Notes for Christine BARTH


Christine Helbling			
Christine Helbling  Christine Helbling, 86, Mandan, passed away Oct. 21, 2007,
at a Mandan adult foster care home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan,
with the Rev. Al Leary officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery
following the service.  Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. today at
Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a parish vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation
continues one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.  Christine was
born Aug. 30, 1921, in Fallon, the daughter of Thomas and Eudenia (Schmidt)
Barth. After graduating from Mandan High School, she was employed with Harvey
Williams Company in Mandan. She was united in marriage to Matt Helbling Nov.
16, 1943. They lived with Matt's parents at their farm until December 1945,
when they purchased their own farm west of Mandan. They farmed and ranched
there until their retirement in 1987.  Christine patiently taught her
daughters to sew, bake and cook. She enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits
of her labor. Many fond memories were made playing a game of checkers or cards
with family. She looked forward to the holidays when she would make her
special holiday fudge, snowballs, Easter bread, caramel rolls and many other
sweet treats to share with others. She was known to whip up a fantastic meal
when company dropped by. No one had more to do and got it done better.  She
was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose wonderful, gentle spirit will
be missed by six daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon Helbling, Bismarck,
Norma (Dean) Bachmeier, Minot, Mary Lou Peterson, Las Vegas, Rosalie (Allan)
Voigt, Mandan, and Lorraine Doll and Kristin Helbling, both of Bismarck; three
sons and daughters-in-law, James (Sandy), Fred (Pam) and Wayne (Janet), all of
Mandan; 11 grandchildren, James (Jennifer), Natalie and John Bachmeier, Scott
(Kris), Christopher (Kim) and Michelle (fiancee, Eddie) Peterson, Jennifer,
Russell (fiancee, Tonya) and Lindsey Voigt and Ryan (Jaimee) and Jodee Doll;
three great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren, Wyatt and Annie Berger,
Anne and Danielle Gilbertson, Michelle and Amanda Fetzer and Rachel Helbling,
six step-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Barth, Bend, Ore.; five
sisters, Anna Barth, Mandan, Rose Ternes, Bismarck, Kathryn Vicenti, Imperial
Beach, Calif., and Cecelia Barth and Eva Darth, Los Angeles, Calif.  Christine
was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 15 brothers and sisters.
