Notes for Marion BURGARD


MARION TRUE, age 86, of Harris, MN died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at her home.
Marion was born in 1921 to Frank and Ottilia Burgard in Orin, North Dakota.
She attended school in Churchs Ferry, ND. Marion lived in Rugby, ND and later
moved to Minneapolis. Marion worked at Munsingwear as a seamstress. She was
united in marriage to Paul True on April 7, 1956 in Pine City, MN and they
later moved to the Isanti area where she owned and operated a daycare center
prior to owning and operating the Fairyland Doll Shop. Marion and Paul moved
to Madison, MN and where they relocated the doll shop and also opened the
Madison Jewelry Gift Shop. Their next venture was a move to Revillo, SD where
they owned and operated  ËœThis & That Grocery Store. After retirement in
1986, they moved to Hill City, MN, then Remer, MN and later achieved her dream
of having a lake home on Little Trout Lake near Emily, MN. In 2006, they moved
to Harris, MN. Marion loved collecting antiques, especially antique dolls,
fishing, gardening, big band music, camping, traveling to the Dakota's and
visiting with relatives. Preceding her in death were her parents; children,
Gene Kofstad, Darlene Anderson and Raymond Kofstad; two sisters, Barbara Wolf
and Julie Axeman; four brothers, Anton, Frank Jr., Casper and Emil Burgard.
Survived by  Her husband of 52 years, Paul  Two Daughters  Shirley Marshall of
Harris, MN, Paulette (Joseph) Lamere of Excelsior, MN, One Son Chyde (Vicky)
True of New London, MN, Three Sisters;  Pauline (Frank) Eberly of Rugby, ND,
Doris Levitt of Rugby, ND, Dorthea (Lenard) Goetz of Rugby, ND; One Brother 
Eusabius (Barbara) Burgard of Rugby, ND. Thirteen Grandchildren and Nine Great
Grandchildren

Visitation will be Friday, May 9th from 12:00 Noon until the 1:00 PM Funeral
Service at St. Andre's Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, MN. Rev. George B.
Gilbertson will officiate. Burial will be in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery.
