Agatha Kraft, 96, St. Cloud, MN, died Wednesday, Jan 25, 1995, in a St. Cloud
hospital.Agatha was born May 16, 1898, on a farm near Strasburg, the
daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Schneider) Baumgartner. She attended a rural
school. On Jan. 17, 1920, she married Pius J. Kraft and they made their home
in Strasburg where they operated a general store for 56 years. Her husband
died April 29, 1989. Agatha was a member of St. Mary's Society. She loved to
cook and make rugs.Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-laws,
Alex and Adeline Kraft, Mandan, Pius and Ann Marie Kraft, Bismarck, George and
Fairie Kraft, Nassau, Bahamas, and William Kraft, St. Cloud; three daughters
and one son-in-law, Isabel Fischer, Aberdeen, SD, Geraldine and Frank Mara,
Sandwich, MA, and Sister Katherine Kraft, O.S.B. St. Joseph, MN; 25
grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; five
sisters, Eva Schmaltz and Elizabeth Lipp both of Linton, Lenny Schwab and
Marta Wagner, both of Strasburg, and Tillie Fischer, Minneapolis, MN. USA
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, Jan 31, 1995, at Sts. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church, Strasburg with the Rev. Leonard Eckroth officiating.
Scripture readers were George Kraft and Victoria Rice, Gift bearers were the
grandchildren and the music was by the Sisters of St. Benedict from St.
Joseph, MN. USACasketbearers were Tom, Ken, Dan, Mike, Mark, Gary, and
Dennis Kraft and Joe Smith.Burial was in the church cemetery under the
