ANTON FRESON

Anton Freson was born in 1892 in Odessa, Russia.  he and his brother
Frank,emigrated to Canada in 1911, at which time he came to the Kerrobert
area,where he was employed at Allan's Livery Stable.

Anton married Katherine Volk of Denzil, who was born also in Odessa, Russia in
1899.  They farmed seven miles east and one half mile north of Luseland.In
1922, they moved to a farm they purchased four and a half miles north of
Denzil.  When they arrived at this location with their few possession, the
house that they wanted to move into covered with a straw stack.  So before
moving into it, they had to fork the straw out of the rooms.
In 1940, a new house was built, the contractors were George Wiesner and
JohnReiniger.  The plastering and chimney were done by Anton J. Hauk.
The hydro power came into this area in 1952.  The wiring of most farms in the
district was done by Ken McRae, Wilbert Zinger, Anton Hauk and Rusty Hauk.

Anton and Katherine had 10 children;  Martin, Peter, Joseph, Eva, Anton
Jr.George, Beatrice, Theodore, Celestine and Ray.

Katherine passed away November 24, 1941.

Anton remained on the farm until 1947 at which time he moved to Denzil with
the three youngest children.  He passed away May 8,
1956.
