immigrated to New York - fought in the US Civil War. Enlisted in Co D, New York 93rd Inf Reg on 23 May 1864 at the age of 31 at Willliamsburg, New York. He survived the war, but see below. He had immigrated thru Le Havre France in 1854 on the SS Saxon arriving 11 Dec 1854 at New Orleans and worked his way northward. He was 22 then. Unfortunately Peter, who was listed as a Private, deserted his Co on 31 Dec 1864.
