Frank came to USA in April 1898 with parents, brothers and sisters, they settled northeast of Bowdle SD. He married Theresa Klotz on 5 Nov 1906 at Hillsview, SD by Fr. Busche. In March 1909 he and his brother-in-law, Louis Klotz, left Bowdle SD with 2 freight cars, in one car they had farm machinery and household effects. In the other car they had livestock and feed and 2 oak barrels full of water, which they refilled from time to time. Frank and Louis slept in the freight car with the livestock and they had food with them. Theresa (Klotz) and daughter, Walburga, took the passenger train to Harvey. When they left Bowdle there was no snow but in Harvey there was 2 feet so they used sleighs to move the equipment and household goods to the farm. Frank had come up in the fall of 1908 and bought a farm 8 miles northeast of Harvey. In 1945 he moved to Harvey, residing there until his death.
