Notes for Rochus WEIGEL


Arrived in United States in 1903. Lived in Emmons County in North Dakota and
then moved first to Logan County and later to LaMoure county. In 1946 he moved
to Oakes in Dickey County and lived there until he came to Manor St. Joseph.
Pallbearers were Peter Mitzel, Fred Mitzel, John A. Senger, Simon Aberle,
Lester Walburn and Sebastian Wald. Rosary was said at the Holte chapel.
Obituary: Rokus Weigel, 79, died on Monday:Rokus Weigel, 79, died monday ,
April 2, 1962 at Manor St. Joseph in Edgeley. He had been a resident there
since Spet. 26, 1961. Mr. Weigel was born in Russia Octo. 15, 1882. He came to
the United States in 1903 and lived in Emmons county in North Dakota. He moved
from there to Logan county and later to LaMoure county. In 1946 he moves to
Oakes in Dickey county and lived there until he came to Manor St. Joseph. His
parents were Mike Weigel and Anna Vetch. He was married to Josephine Fettig
Nov. 29, 1909 at Linton. She died in 1942. In 1946 he was married to Mrs.
Theresia Feist. She died in 1947.Funeral services were set for Thursday,
April 5, at 10 A.M. at the Church of the Transfiguration. Fr. Leo J. J. Kuhn
was celebrant at the Requiem High Mass. The Sisters and Mrs. Stanley Diemert
sang. Mrs. Joe Zundel was at the organ.Pallbearers named were Peter Mitzel,
Fred Mitzel, John A. Sneger, Simon Aberle, Lester Walburn and Sebastian Wald. 
Rosary was said at the Holte chapel Wednesday evening.Surviving Mr. Weigel
are nine children, Mike and Tony of Edgeley, Fran of Berlin; Rokus Jr. of
Oakes; Mrs Peter (Anna) Geffre and Mrs. Nick (Mary) Meisch Jr. of LaMoure,
Mrs. John (Margaret) Feist of Oakes, Mrs. Lloyd (Josephine) Dawson of Grafton;
Mrs. Milo (Elizabeth) Barton of Frederick, S.D.; 38 grandchildren, 2 great
grandchildren, and 11 step children.
